So, back to Marietta, GA as a place to live, here is some information that helped me when we moved here.
Location, Location, Location: Marietta
Metro Atlanta is sprawling so it is important to know where the things are relative to Atlanta and (more importantly) the airport. Marietta is northwest of Atlanta (north, northwest of Hartsfield- Jackson Atlanta Airport). Best part for me, living in Marietta, is not having to drive across downtown Atlanta to get to the airport.
Downtown Marietta is home to the Marietta Square a beautiful area full of shops, playground, fountain and grounds great for enjoying friends & family (great for family photos). Start with Marietta Square Market an indoor Food Hall with all kinds of delicious foods… they even host Trivia Nights weekly on Thursdays.
Feel free to stop in the Welcome Center for maps, information and more! Here is where you can pick up you tickets for the annual Pilgrimage, where during the holidays historic homes are dress in their best holiday decor and viewed during a walking tour.

Marietta is full of life and there is always something bringing the community together.
Weekly Marietta Famers Market (Saturdays from 9a-12pm). Marietta Square spots to check out include the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art, Marietta Fire Museum, and the Root House Museum. There are 2 Theaters on the Square – The Strand Theatre and Marietta’s NEW Theater in the Square.
